DOES CORPORATE GOVERNANCE MATTER FOR ASSET QUALITY OF ISLAMIC BANKS?

This study investigates the impact of corporate governance on asset quality Islamic banks by employing data 129 from 29 countries spanning period 2008 to 2017. The shows that is positively and significantly sensitive an increase in board independence, Shariah board, audit committee effectiveness. finds female participation management as CEOs seems detract good performance more meetings can be harnessed improve banks’ quality. These empirical findings have practical policy implications regarding construction within banking sector.
